Will MS Dhoni Play In IPL 2023? Sunil Gavaskar Answers

Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, who is 40-years-old, announced his international retirement on 15 August 2020

He only turns up to play the game of cricket only once a year for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.

However, the way MS Dhoni has performed in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, it feels like Dhoni has a lot of cricket left in him.

Considering his performances in the last two seasons of the IPL, it won’t be wrong to say that he has turned back the clock with his batting.

Though he might have scored just 199 runs from 12 games so far in IPL 2022, however, these numbers don’t reflect just how Dhoni looked in the tournament,

Sunil Gavaskar said he is hopeful that MS Dhoni will return to play for Chennai Super Kings in the next season of the Indian Premier League.

His statements came after Chennai was knocked out of the playoffs race by Mumbai Indians on Thursday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Talking about Dhoni’s performances, Gavaskar feels that the former Indian captain is still keen and enthusiastic about the game and that he is “definitely not” going to retire anytime soon.

He said:“Well, I mean, look at the way he has played. He is clearly showing he is very keen, still enthusiastic about the game,”
